The following is a list of Linux machines available for grad students, faculty, researchers, or staff on the Grad/Research Net. These Linux machines can be accessed remotely via ssh
, scp
, or VNC.
If you're working remotely, although you are welcome to log into any of our Linux clients, it's recommended that you use gradx.cs.jhu.edu, as it can handle more concurrent use than any of the lab machines. All of the systems are identically configured, however, so anything you can do on one of them can be done on all of the others, too.
(Note: all machines end with .cs.jhu.edu as in, masters1.cs.jhu.edu)
- masters1 through masters16 - standard Fedora 17 Linux clients - Shaffer 4 Lab Area and Collaboration Area. Also available remotely via ssh or scp.
- gradx - Fedora 17 Linux-based compute server. 8 core, 16gb RAM - only available remotely via ssh or scp.
ssh key fingerprints for these machines can be found on the SSH Key Fingerprints for Grad and Ugrad Net Linux Computers page
