Zoom And Other App Failures with MacOS Sequoia

Currently, as of Sept, 2024, there is an issue in Sequoia (MacOS 15, which is the latest MacOS at the time of this writing) that causes applications to lose permissions to accept inbound connections, which apparently includes TCP replies. Zoom is one of the common apps impacted.

Until a patch is released, the fix is to manually reset the permissions via the command line:

sudo /usr/libexec/ApplicationFirewall/socketfilterfw --add /Applications/zoom.us.app
