CS IT SERVICE OUTAGES (Unplanned & Planned)

UNPLANNED CS IT SERVICE OUTAGES

UPDATE: 3/6/25 A workaround has been put into place to speed up mail sending through the CS mail server, and it is working.
WHAT: Slowness when sending CS email through our CS SMTP server.
DATE POSTED: 3/5/25
DESCRIPTION: We have recently noticed a slowness when sending mail through our SMTP server, especially when sending from outside of JHU. It might take upwards of 15 seconds after clicking SEND for the sending process to be complete (it's usually quicker.) We think we have identified which part of our SMTP service is affected and are currently working on modifications to the affected system. After those modifications, we will be testing to see if the mods have fixed the issue. During this time, sending via SMTP will continue to be available, just perhaps slower than usual.
