::'''DETAILS:'''  Information directly from the JHU IT Team:  ''"The East Baltimore Networking Wireless team has a project to replace all wireless access points that they have on the Johns Hopkins University Homewood campus with the 3702 AP version this year. We will be in the Malone Hall this coming Wednesday, July 29th and Thursday, July 30th from 10:00AM to 10:00PM. Each access point will lose networking connectivity for 3-5min as it's replaced, then the new access point will reconnect to the network and be fully functional. Due to the nature of the wireless network, we cannot tell you what day each floor will be upgraded, but the work for the entire Malone Hall building will be completed by 10:00PM on Thursday, July 30th. CS IT STAFF AVAILABILITY (New!)


NOTE: Beginning March 18, 2020, and until further notice, the CS IT Support Staff will not be available in-person. We will continue being available M-F, 8:30 to 5pm, but online only. Therefore, please remember to email support@cs.jhu.edu for assistance. Also, please have Zoom available on your device(s), so that we can arrange to contact you using that method, as an alternative to in-person communication. We are also looking into providing a virtual version of Steve DeBlasio's daily office hours for accounts, etc.

PLANNED JHU SERVICE OUTAGES

WHAT: Homewood Brief (5 minute?) Network Outages
WHEN: Sometime around 7am or after on Tuesday, Aug 11.
DETAILS: JHU is doing work on its firewall zones and indicated that may cause a brief network outage that will affect several areas of campus, including Malone Hall. Specifically, the outage will affect communications between the firewall zones and out to the internet. They indicated they think if the systems are on the same subnet, users may not notice the move between systems on that subnet, however if the systems are on two different subnets user might notice a communications "blip".

CS COMPUTING LAB AVAILABILITY


MH-122 (CS Undergrad Lab/Collaboration room): As of 3/13/20, closed until further notice.

All CS Linux systems in that room (ugrad1 through ugrad12) will continue to be available remotely, via ssh.

G-61 (CS Masters/Ugrad Labs): As of 3/17/20, closed until further notice.

For the UGrad side, although that section is closed, the Linux systems in that room (ugrad13 through ugrad24) will continue to be available remotely, via ssh.
For the Masters side, although that section is closed, the Linux systems in that room (masters1 through masters16) will continue to be available remotely, via ssh.
