PLANNED OUTAGES

Ugrad Net Linux Servers/Clients Outage Scheduled

WHEN: Thursday, June 25, 7am to approx. 8am

The Ugrad Net's /home dir fileserver (for the ugrad Linux boxes), called barley, is having a problem with one of its disk arrays. We have contacted service, and they are expected to come out tomorrow (Thursday) morning. Barley will experience some downtime due to the repair.

The repair should begin around 7am and is expected to last approximately one hour.

As a result of barley being taken down for repair, the following Ugrad Net services will be unavailable from around 7am until the repair is completed:

• Email in or out on the Ugrad Net will be disabled. (Connections to our Ugrad IMAP/POP server, mail.ugrad.cs.jhu.edu will fail during that time. However, incoming mail to the CS Ugrad Network should queue at an alternative server.)

• Ugrad Net user accounts/home directories (/home on the Ugrad Net's Linux systems) will be inaccessible during the downtime.

• Access to any of our Ugrad Net linux clients (including ugrad1 through ugrad24, as well as ugradx) will be unavailable.

• Your Ugrad Net web pages will be unavailable.
