Since CS does not maintain wireless connections, if you will not be connecting to JHU's "hopkins" wireless system, then, you will need to use a CAT-5/6 cable for your network connection.

DHCP service on the CS Ugrad net is available from the table-mounted network ports (and some wall ports) within the Croft (formerly, NEB) 225/227 Undergraduate Lab.

Once you plug your computer into a network wall-port:

  1. Open a browser.
  2. Browse to some website.
  3. Your browsing call will be intercepted by the DHCP server.
  4. Fill out the form that appears, and click submit.
  5. Once you see a confirmation page appear, please reboot your machine. You will now be on the CS net with an Undergrad Net dynamic IP.
