CS IT STAFF AVAILABILITY

The CS IT Support staff operates out of Malone Hall. Our group is working a hybrid schedule with some of us working remotely on certain days, while others of our team are on campus.
We are available M-F, 8:30 to 5pm, but there may be certain times we might be online only.
Therefore, please remember to email support@cs.jhu.edu for assistance.
Also, please have Zoom available on your device(s), so that we can arrange to contact you using that method, as an alternative to in-person communication.
Steve DeBlasio, our accounts liaison, is providing a virtual version of his daily office hours for accounts, etc. Email support@cs.jhu.edu for details.

WHEN: Thursday, September 17 from 9:00 am to 9:30 am
WHAT: We need do to some maintenance on a few systems that will require taking a few services offline for a short while. No individual service should be offline for more than fifteen minutes, and we expect the entire process to take less than half an hour.

Affected services include:
- All mail service, including outbound mail (SMTP), inbound mail (IMAP/POP), and our webmail client. Messages sent to CS during the outage will still be delivered, but the delivery might be delayed.
- All CS-hosted websites, including both the main CS website and the websites we host for various CS research labs and other groups.
- SSH to gradx. You can use gradv when gradx is unavailable. (Or gradz or masters1 through 4. But gradx and gradv have identical hardware, so it's easiest to substitute one for the other.)

MH 122 (CS Undergrad Lab/Collaboration room) is available for in-person access.

MH 316/322 (CS Masters Lab & MSSI Lab) is available for in-person access.
